Stewartville Invitational Champions

Aaron's basketball team won the Stewartville Invitational today, defeating Grand Meadow, Kingsland & Byron.  Aaron had a little extra support on the sidelines today as Robin, Pete, Annie and KT made the trip south to cheer him on!  Here is a team picture as well as Aaron's groupies.

Owatonna Tournament Champions

Aaron's traveling basketball team won the Owatonna Tourney today defeating Owatonna 42-26 in the championship game.  The team passed the ball very well in the tournament.  Aaron managed to score 37 points in the 3 game tournament.

Bad Day for the Simmons

January 19th was a bad day for the Simmons' family.

• The TV room door came off it's hinges.
• A glass fell out of the cupboard and broke into a million pieces.
• Water leaked from our upstairs bathroom onto our new kitchen ceiling :-(  We will know in about one week if we need to replace our ceiling.  

3rd Place at District Competition

Drew competed in the District Hoop Shoot Competition, in Austin, MN on January 17th. He got off to a rocky start making 5 of his first 10 shots.  He regrouped in the second round canning 12 of 15 free throws.  After 25 free throw attempts, there was a 3 way tie for 2nd place with each shooter making 17 free throws.  Drew was now in a free throw shoot off with two other boys to determine 2nd place.  Drew shot 4/5 but the winner made all 5 free throws. The overall winner in the 8/9 boys division made 23/25 free throws.  The video clip is Drew shooting in the shoot off.  

Goodhue Champions

Aaron's basketball team won the Goodhue basketball tournament on Saturday. They defeated Kenyon-Wanamingo and Goodhue.  Aaron scored 26 points in the tournament. They improved to 7-0 for the season. In the video, Aaron is #25 who makes the basket.

New Cabinets Installed

Our new cabinets were installed today. Here are a couple of before and after photos.  The cabinets have completely changed the look of the room.

Hoop Shoot Champion

Drew competed in the Elk's Hoop Shoot contest today in Rochester.  He tied for first place.   He made all 5 of his free throws in the shoot off and won the boys 8-9 division. He will now compete in Austin on January 17 for the district competition.

We watched our godchild play basketball...she scored 8 points and they won the game!
